If you attended Southport’s annual Beer festival at the Arts Centre I am sure you’ll agree it was a good weekend. Many of the regions brewers attended, not only by the beers they brew, but also by the brewers and colleagues in person. Giving the drinking public a chance to meet and talk to the men and women behind the beers they drink. Amongst the many beers on offer from around the country were three beers from Southport brewery :
Next years festival is not at the Arts Centre as it is being modernised. A new venue will be announced for the 2010 Southport Beer Festival. |

Gold - Golden Sands, Southport Brewery Congratulations are passed on to all at Yorkshire based brewer Rudgate’s who scooped the overall top award of Champion Beer of Britain 2009 with their renowned Rudgate Mild. The award ceremony is being held at Thornbridge House, the home of Thornbridge Brewery in Derbyshire on the 10th of October. On a personnel note winning the award came as quite a shock to Elaine and I while we where in New Zealand visiting family. Sadly there was no Golden Sands to celebrate with over in Queenstown so I hurtled down the slopes by snowboard. |
